Why does valentines day ....?

The way I see it, V-day is just another day. Sure its a holiday that is (deemed to be reserved for couples), but who says you have to be depressed? I think many are depressed because they choose to focus on what others have instead of being content in their own lives. Sure I want someone. I'm single and have been all of my life (23 years old). But that doesn't mean I hate the holiday because of it. I do get lonely sometimes, but most of the time (including today) I am content because having a woman in my life does not complete me. I am a whole person because I have God in my life first, family, a few friends, a job, and overall peace of mind. "Single awareness day"! Who says it has to be a miserable day? I don't think it has to be, but everyone focuses on that so much. Life goes on!
