I'm writing a novel and I want to know if this is a good or a boring beggining!?

I began to read just out of curiosity, but then found myself reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen to Scarlet. So it definitely started to keep my interest. Watch some of your spelling and usage though. For example, Scarlet's dad didn't "except" a job in Michigan; he "accepted" a job in Michigan. Watch the "your" and "you're" instances too. Keep it up though, I'd be interested to know how it turns out :)
