Why are the racists becomming so vocal today?

I understand that bigots are simply a burden that society has to shoulder but we seem to be overrun with them on here today. I hope everyone realizes these 'people' are not representative. I am a 50 yr old southern male and racism and other forms of bigotry sicken me.
